The Russian developer BIART officially announced U-Wars today, a third person shooter that offers an underwater action experience. Development began in late 2007, and the game is currently scheduled to arrive in mid 2010 for the Xbox 360, PC and PSP.

This cinematic, sci-fi shooter will chronicle the struggles of an elite group of soldiers as they partake in covert operations on land and underwater. Multiplayer will be supported as well.

U-Wars was presented at this year’s E3 behind closed doors and supposedly received a great response from journalists. It offers a unique spin on the traditional shooter, to say the very least, and it should be interesting to see how everything comes together as more information surfaces.
