The 27th Annual Golden Joystick Awards were held recently and the Call of Duty series managed to walk away with another handful of honors.
Call of Duty: World at War was hailed as “Multiplayer Game of the Year” and “Nintendo Game of the Year.”
In what seems like stating the obvious, the forthcoming and heavily anticipated CoD: Modern Warfare 2 was dubbed as “The One to Watch.” This sequel to Infinity Ward’s esteemed CoD4 is expected to collect plenty of additional accolades following its November 10 release.
Other noteworthy winners included Gears of War 2 and Killzone 2, which were both crowned “Game of the Year” for their respective platforms. While Fallout 3 took home the prestigious title of “Ultimate Game of the Year”, my pick for this category would have been World at War. However, 1.2 million voters have spoken.
